When it’s not in your mouth, it should always be in its case. Most retainers are lost in school lunchrooms or restaurants when they’re wrapped in a napkin by mistake. Also, keep them away from pets, dogs especially love to chew on them! If you do happen to misplace or break yours, give us a call right away.

Keeping your retainer fresh is a simple part of life after treatment. Just use your toothbrush and toothpaste with warm, not hot, water once a day. This removes plaque and keeps it smelling clean. Avoid hot water, hot car dashboards, or the washing machine, as high heat can warp the shape of the plastic.
